Talmidei yeshiva lament the churban in the Cardo of Jerusalem’s Old City on Tisha B’Av night 5777.
The cardo, built during the Roman period (sixth century CE), was exposed in the excavation work in the Jewish Quarter between Chabad Street and HaYehudim Street in the Jewish Quarter. The cardo was a central market with spectacular stone columns under the sky, on either side of which sidewalks were paved for pedestrian use.
