Yolish Krauss: One Who Accepts State Funds But Doesn’t Serve In The IDF Is A Hypocrite

Yolish Krauss, viewed as being the operations officer of the Eida Chareidis, speaks out against those mosdos who accept funds from the Zionist Government of Israel, pointing an accusing finger at the Peleg group of the litvish tzibur.

Krauss directs his comments during an interview with Yediot Yerushalayim at the chareidi tzibur, which he calls hypocritical for accepting state funds but not serving in the IDF. He calls the protests recently held against induction into the IDF “hypocritical” for as long as those mosdos accept state funds. “You cannot take state money for your yeshiva and your children with one hand and refusing to serve in the IDF with the other. You cannot have it both ways” he feels.

“I suggest the Peleg Yerushalmi that before you begin protesting in the streets, get 1,000 talmidim to enter the IDF and change things from inside. If you do not succeed you will be thrown out and this will end the induction battle of the chareidim. The IDF doesn’t want you!”

  1. Like duh! He who pays the fiddler calls the tune. If you want to be paid by the zionists, expect them to want something in return. It isn’t like the zionists love Torah and Mitsvos. They give “hareidim” gelt, and expect kinderloch in return.

  2. Another genius who thinks his da’as Torah is greater than the gedolei Torah. BTW, one and a half million Arabs who are Israeli citizens receive funding for their schools without having to furnish any cannon fodder to the IDF. No Israeli government has ever tried to change that. So, there’s no reason it can’t be so with the Chareidim.

  3. it is easy to be extreme in dress and action, it takes away the need to actually think.

But a Jew is not just some one who dresses extreme and acts like extremist, rather he is a person who thinks, who learns and reflects on what HaShem wants, not just following dated and worn out unrellavent anti-zionist rhetoric.

  4. Actually, the Israelis are actively trying to undermine Islamic cultures among its Palestinian citizens, and transform them into “modern” Arabs who reject and Islamic lifestyle, which thereby alienates them from the rest of the Arab and Islamic world. The major difference in those Arabs who want their children raised as good Muslims have dozens of countries to migrate to, whereas Eretz Yisrael is special for Jews (which is why the haredi community predates the zionists by centuries).

  5. He is correct but (1)If the Charedi mosdos agree to stop accepting government funds will the government drop the draft demands? (2)Saying this publicly can be used as propaganda to hurt the frum world
