Workers on Tuesday, 2 Av, removed the controversial metal detectors set into place by Israel on Har Habayis following the fatal erev Shabbos shooting attack that claimed the lives of two policemen. Despite the need and justification for their presence, Israel capitulated to mounting pressure and Islamic violence.
In the photo and video, one can see workers carrying pieces of the metal detectors, which Israel removed, buckling under increasing pressure from the Waqf Authority, Jordan, the PA (Palestinian Authority) and some Western nations.
The Security Cabinet has issued a statement seeking to explain the removal of the metal detectors does not signal capitulation, insisting new arrangement are in place to ensure weapons are not smuggled onto Har Bayis in the future.
