In this Honest Reporting video, the events that began with the deadly terror attack on Har Habayis on July 14, 2017 are explained, as is the placement of metal detectors on Har Habayis in response. The video does an exemplary job pointing out the absurd situation and the international community’s response.

However, the issue as we are led to understand is not one of right and wrong, or the fact that the installation of metal detectors was a prudent and moderate response by Israel.

Unfortunately, the Security Cabinet has already released a decision that it is willing to remove the metal detectors, which have been at the heart of the violence and international involvement since their placement – and this is for one reason only, it represents Israeli sovereignty over the holy site, which is intolerable for Jordan, the PA (Palestinian Authority), Waqf Authority and the international Muslim community.

While Israel dared to shut Har Habayis following the attack on erev Shabbos until Sunday afternoon, the International Muslim community decided it is compelled to show it is still in charge and the decision would surround the removal of the metal detectors for the crux of the matter is simply who is in change on Har Habayis.

Once again, Israel acquiesced, in this case, also to get Jordan to agree to release the embassy staff including the wounded security agent, to permit their return home following the attack at that location.
