The Government has approved the establishment of a visitor center to commemorate the legacy of Ze’ev Jabotinsky. The center will be headed by the Jerusalem Heritage Ministry.

On the 29th of Tammuz, the day of Ze’ev Jabotinsky’s death, the government approved the establishment of a visitor center to commemorate Jabotinsky’s legacy at a cost of 14 million NIS. The project was founded by the Jerusalem and Heritage Ministry, headed by Minister Ze’ev Elkin.

The original proposal spoke of only 11 million NIS, but during the meeting additional ministers joined in this important project, and the amount rose to 14 million NIS.

In addition to the Jerusalem office and the legacy that leads the project, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry for Social Equality also joined the project.

Minister Elkin added, “The legacy of Ze’ev Jabotinsky and the policy of the ‘Iron Wall’ proves to be relevant to the present day, and we are obligated to preserve, perpetuate, and make Jabotinsky’s heritage accessible to the younger generation, and I am proud to lead this important project within the framework of the Ministry Jerusalem and heritage.”
