Prominent attorney David Shimron has been identified as the person close to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu questioned by police in the submarine fraud affair known as Case 3000. Shimron is the prime minister’s attorney and a cousin.

Shimron was questioned on Monday 16 Tammuz. He was arrested and later released to house attack.

Adversaries to Mr. Netanyahu are following the case carefully, hopeful it will lead to his political downfall. However, persons in the know state that while some of the suspects in the case are close to Mr. Netanyahu, he is not suspected of law-breaking. Another prominent official questioned in the case is retired IDF Admiral Eliezer Merom.
