Residents of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Nachlaot last week reported that parking summonses were issued on Shabbos. The news found its way to social media and residents began expressing their anger of the Shabbos traffic enforcement.
Jerusalem City Hall responded to the report stating, “Due to a complaint that reached the city’s hotline, it was learned that an inspector from the eastern Jerusalem [a non-Jew] area came to the area and issued summonses contrary to instructions.
The city has signaled it will cancel the summonses in question.
