A man who ran educational institutions in the general sector in Israel and abroad, according to the indictment filed against him on Wednesday 4 Tammuz, is a cruel attacker.
The indictment against Avinoam Granot, 69, from Kfar Sava, shows that at least on four different occasions he stopped his car at taxi stations and offered a yeshiva student standing there a ride to assist him in reaching his destination.
During the journey, he began to attack, mercilessly, the student sitting next to him. In addition, to the four complainants mentioned in the indictment, three additional complaints are pending against Granot.
Now that he has been arrested two and a half weeks ago for his actions, he is being charged with serious crimes committed against yeshiva students, some minors; in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Elad.
It is reported that Granot established and ran a school in Holon and Kfar Sava, and spent time as an educational shaliach in Mexico. In addition, he served as a councilman in Kfar Sava for a period of time, until he decided to retire from political life. Now he is facing indictments for attacking yeshiva students.

I suppose “general sector” means secular/non-religion. An internet search shows media reports on his educational endeavours (Haaretz in particular), but nothing besides this site on this story on the internet (English language). I wonder what the media would do if the roles were reversed and a religious educator did this to secular students.
