A 16-year-old yeshiva bachur was serious injured when a vehicle struck a motorized scooter on erev shabbos. The driver of the scooter sustained light injuries but the yeshiva student was injured seriously. The accident occurred at 11:30am on Jerusalem Boulevard in Ashkelon when a passenger vehicle slammed into the scooter.

Ichud Hatzalah was the first on the scene, stabilizing the victim for transport to an area hospital. The victim underwent emergency surgery before shabbos.
