Shas party leader, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, was questioned by police of the Lahav 433 Unit for a third time on Wednesday, 20 Sivan.
Deri is suspected of corruption pertaining to real estate dealings and alleged tax evasion connected to his Mifalot Simcha NGO, which is run by his family. While both Deri and his wife were questioned the first two times, only he was questioned on Thursday, 21 Sivan for a third time. Charges against Deri connected to the real estate dealings may include breach of trust, theft, fraud and falsifying documents.
A petition against Deri has already been filed with the Supreme Court to have him removed from his cabinet post or compelled to take leave pending the outcome of the police investigation against him.
