There is a bit of a buzz surrounding the presence of Meir Porush and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat at a faction meeting of Agudas Yisrael in Jerusalem City Hall along with Agudas Yisrael Knesset members.
Agudah MKs Moses, Litzman and Eichler met in City Hall with party colleagues as part of an effort to maintain a connection between elected officials on the local and national level. Porush was present in his capacity as a senior Agudah official, but surprisingly, so was the mayor, Porush’s political opponent who defeated him in the mayoral race.
The mayor explained he opted to stop in to congratulate them on the meeting, wishing to lend his support for the cooperation between the different levels of government. Participants returned the greetings and good wishes to the mayor.
