During this week, a woman who was crying approached police in the Shuafat Refugee Camp. She explained she has a son hospitalized in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital yet she cannot visit him since she lost her identity card.
Police contacted the necessary officials and the Interior Ministry, arranging for a new identity card to be issued to the woman on the very same day.
A police spokesman said, “This is the true purpose of the establishment of the substation for the community, to make police services available to local residents and to assist them in issues of this kind that directly affect their lives”.
