On motzei Shabbos, Ministry of Defense Crossing Authority security officials stopped an Israeli vehicle to be searched after the driver aroused suspicion. During the inspection, security officials discovered a Beretta pistol and two full magazines, both of which were then confiscated from the vehicle. The driver has been transferred to the Israeli Police for questioning.
It should be noted that the Te’enim Crossing on Route 557 became a civilian crossing only last week, with its responsibilities transferred from the IDF to the MOD Crossing Authority. With this change, Te’enim Crossing has become the 14th crossing in Yehuda and Samaria (16th including crossing points to Gaza) which has been transferred from the IDF to the Ministry of Defense, in turn becoming a civilian crossing point.
