Tens of persons participated in a kabolas panim for Tzvi Friedman, who was released from military prison after 70 days for refusing to cooperate with military officials. Friedman, a member of the Peleg community, will be receiving $100 for each day imprisoned from Satmar askanim.
The kabolas panim was held on Hillel Street in Beit Shemesh with the participation of avreichim and children, with festivities spilling on to Rabi Yehoshua Street. Rabbonim of the area also particiapted.
After the kabolas panim, a few dozen gathered and tried to block the road as they hurled rocks and eggs at police. One female policeperson was hit by a stone and lightly injured, transported to a hospital. A police vehicle was also damaged by rocks.
Police moved in and dispersed the protestors, leading to two arrests.
