President Donald Trump on Tuesday, 27 Iyar, met with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) as planned, in PA-occupied Bet Lechem. However, unlike his predecessors, President Trump appears to have decided to tell it like it says, telling the PA leader that there cannot be peace for as long as the PA continues to support and glorify terrorism.
Mr. Trump said, “peace can never take root in an environment where violence is tolerated, funded and even rewarded.”
Abu Mazen reportedly explained his commitment to achieving peace. President Trump, in their joint press conference, explained he will do whatever he can to assist the sides in reaching a peace agreement.
Perhaps it is too early to predict but it appears that the PA is already aware that this US president will not follow the lead of predecessors and continue pressing Israel for unilateral concessions while the PA continues glorifying and supporting terrorism and the families of terrorists.
It is also noteworthy to mention Mr. Trump chose not to mention the so-called two-state-solution that former presidents embraced.

They need to bentsch gomel after getting out of the lion’s den alive. Did the women not come along? Too scared?
President Trump spoke very well and to the point, but how can he call them LOSERS, the terminology used for Clinton’s party, the Democratic minority, losers? How courageous of him to equate one with the other and tell them openly that with their (the liberals) lawlessness and chaos they don’t fall far behind.
While Trump’s remarks were quite well focused, it missed one obvious point. He spoke openly about terrorism that cannot be tolerated, funded, or rewarded. This will not anger Abbas and the rest of his gang. They do not believe their murder of innocents is terror. They believe that this is the will of allah, and is a positive thing to do. In the mind of the Muslim, anything that furthers their agenda is praiseworthy, deserving of reward, and should be supported and continued. That is their immoral and diseased perception of the situation. Until that gets addressed, the efforts at “peace” are fundamentally flawed and a total waste of time.
Arye, people like you are why I am not Republican.
RebYidd, it’s good that people like you are not Republican. Americans are fed up with your kind of lawlessness and chaos bringing the once great country down to the lowest level of the abyss for the last 30 years. With President Trump b”H at the helm, hopefully with the Rebono Shel Olam’s help, he’ll make America great again.
Excuse me? I would love to have been the one “bringing the country down”, but I can’t take credit. I have never been politically active and there hasn’t been anyone representing me in government for the past century and a half.
Sometimes it’s like talking to a brick wall.
rebyid, but you voted.
