Just hours after a Kassam Rocket landed inside a Sderot home – injuring a woman – the Israeli Air Force carried out an air-strike in Gaza. According to Ynet, the strike eliminated a well known arms dealer in Gaza, but according to the IDF the strike was targeted at a Kassam launching terror squad.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Ehud Barak phoned the Sderot Mayor who had dramatically resigned from his job yesterday during an interview on Israeli radio, and ordered him back to work.
Haaretz reports that Barak told Moyal that his responsibility and commitment to the people of Sderot takes precedence over every other consideration, and that replacing him at this time would not be possible. He also promised him that the defense establishment would make an effort to find a solution to the Kassam problem.

I would have told that when Olmert does his job and you do your job, I’ll go back to my job. But being as Prime minister security is the lowest it’s been in years (Anybody remember a war last year that the defense department couldn’t plan for because they were two busy kicking 10,000 Jews out their homes?) It’s gonna be a while before it improves, and step number one has to be the removal of Olmert and Barak.
As I’ve said before, If you look in tanakh, you will find there was a guy named Ehud. (Shoftim 3) The Bnei Yisrael were oppressed by Midian, what did Ehud do? He killed Eglon the King of Midian and 10,000 midianite soldiers. What happened? “And the land was quite for 80 years!” The there was a guy named Barak. (Shoftim 5) Who went to war with Sisra. He didn’t go peace conferences in Oslo, Madrid, Hebron, Wye, Taba, Annapolis, etc. And after Yael cut off Sisra’s head what happened? “And the land was quiet for 40 years!” Then there was a guy named Ehud Barak and the whole system went to hell.
