Sickening Gaiva and Chuztpah. Stupid publicity stunt that even their own membership won’t take seriously. On top of that, they send a letter dated May 21 for an event to be held May 21, so not even most of their own membership will be able to attend. On the other hand, the letter indicates that Nerya Meir and World Betar are obligating themselves financially to foot the bill for the real estate and the construction. Otherwise, how and where is it that they’re laying a cornerstone? I’m sure the US taxpayers will accept their generous offer, no string s attached.
The Congress hasn’t appropriated any money for a new embassy building, and they might decide that all they will do is have the ambassador live in Jerusalem and commute. One should remember that much of what an embassy does is tied to economic activity, and Tel Aviv is the “business” capital.
The non-Jewish embassy is not a Bais Hamikdash and there’s no reason to force them to bring it to Yerushalayim Ir Hakodesh.
