Bar-Ilan University awarded Magen David Adom an honorary doctorate in recognition of the organization’s lifesaving efforts, commitment to the sanctity of human life and educating toward civil responsibility and volunteerism. The honorary doctorate was awarded on Tuesday evening 20 Iyar, in the framework of the University’s 62nd annual Board of Trustees meetings.
At a meeting last week between University President Rabbi Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz and MDA Director General Eli Bin, Hershkowitz said that Bar-Ilan awards an honorary degree each year to an organization with whom the University closely identifies in values and whose activities are worthy of special recognition.
“Bar-Ilan hears, accepts and lives with opinions from all spectrums,” said Bin. “Similarly, at MDA, there are idealists who serve the entire population equally.”
