A deal is in the works that will result in the construction of 26,000 housing units in Petach Tikvah, Ramat Gan, Rishon L’Tzion, Tel Aviv and Kiryat Ono.
According to a report appearing in the daily HaMevaser, after the IDF moves to its new military city complex in the Negev, the bases located in these cities will be evacuated, making room for the Housing Ministry to move in and begin advancing the construction of housing units, of which 23% will be designated for young couples, both rentals and for purchase.
Housing Minister (Shas) Ariel Atias last week presented his master plan for approval, involving the Israel Lands Administration, Defense Ministry and the Finance Ministry. The plan is in line with the new priorities agreed to last year by the current administration, one of the benefits of relocating the military to its new home in the south, clearing many prime pieces of real estate for development.

Why do they have to make an announcement? Just do it! When they make these announcements, the world gets into a tizzy. They don’t need permission to build houses!
For yong couples only. Is that so these particular houses theoretically shant fall into the hands of the Sudanese?
I can see they are trying to keep the young blood near their high tech jobs. But Ican see something happening, so the young hiluni will not move in, and the Haredi couple will take over 😀 Wouldnt be the first time they ended up making more housing or the religious secter against their will!
