While Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita was enjoying the chasnah of a grandchild, someone was busy making off with the cash and checks left for the young couple. It appears the gifts were being held in a bag by the rav’s daughter, and during the wedding someone managed to make off with the package, which was presumed to contain a significant amount of money in cash and checks.
The rav’s daughter noticed the bag was gone and frantically began searching for it but came to the understanding that it was not missing, but stolen. The bag was found a number of hours later, emptied of its contents.
The owners of the hall are cooperating with the investigation, using surveillance cameras to hopefully identify the thief.
