With Lag B’Omer only days away, Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan met with senior Israel Police and Magen David Adom officials. Erdan is coordinating with the agencies ahead of Lag B’Omer, amid the realization that hundreds of thousands of mispallalim will arrive in Meron on Lag B’Omer as well as the days before and after.
Work continues in Meron, including the giant hachnasas orchim tent and the supersized kitchen, with the latter preparing food for 350,000 people. Bus companies are adjusting schedules and numerous chessed and emergency agencies are coordinating their volunteers, many involved in the assuring the tzibur the day passes without incident.

Its still not too late to delay the bonfires and other events until Sunday night to avoid/spread out the massive crush of people trying to arrive motzi Shabbos. Over and over we hear that the bonfires are only a minhag and there is no fixed “zman” that creates a chiyuv warranting the tremendous sakanah of forcing all these people to travel in a very narrow time window.
