The King David Hotel will host US President Donald Trump when he and his entourage arrive in Jerusalem later this month. The hotel is will accustomed to hosting diplomatic visits as it is usually selected as the venue for senior officials when in Jerusalem.

The entire hotel and its 233 rooms will be closed, used exclusively by the president and his delegation from May 21, 2017, and the area will become as sterile high-security zone until the official visit ends.

Preparations for the president’s first official visit will involve of course the US Secret Service, Israel Police and other security agencies and specialized units, as well as MDA and other emergency agencies.

At the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, 11 Iyar, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu commented on the imminent visit saying, “In two weeks, the State of Israel will host US President Donald Trump, and his wife, on his first trip as President outside the United States. The President will be warmly welcomed here as a great friend of Israel and as is customary for the leader of our greatest ally, the United States.

“The President is seeking to examine ways of renewing the peace process with the Palestinians. I share in this desire as do the citizens of Israel. We want peace. We are also educating our children for peace. I heard Abu Mazen, who praises terrorists and pays them according to the severity of the murders they committed against Israelis; I heard Abu Mazen say that the Palestinians are also educating their children for peace. I regret that this is simply incorrect”.
