According to a Honenu report, an official complaint has been filed against policemen who arrived at a mikve in Yishuv Yitzhar and actually pulled open a shower curtain and then demanded to see the person’s ID card as he was showering.
The complaint expresses outrage over the actions of police and the absolute lack of respect for the persons involved and their dignity.
Police compelled the man, who was undressed, to address them and their request that he identify himself. Two officers accompanied him from the shower and stood there demanding his ID card.
In the complaint, the Honenu attorney writes “It is not clear to me which police department taught them to ask for an ID card while in the shower, but that is the least significant part. The two policemen lit a flashlight on my client when he was naked and helpless and asked for an ID card and began questioning him. My client rebuked them and shouted at them to let him shower in private.”
Honenu points out that in light of the suspect’s shouts, police exited the shower area and waited in the dressing room. However, when he arrived, police did not permit him to dress, but compelled him to display his ID card while still undressed.
Finally, it was determined the man in question, the person who was degraded by police, was not the person they were looking for.

As long as the police had a reasonable basis for questioning the suspect, whats the big deal? This ehrliche yid could have simply pulled his ID card from his pants in the adjacent locker, shown them to the police and wished them a good day. Instead, he shouted at them while they were just doing their job. The article says that both of the police were men so there was no big “privacy” issue.
