Zaka volunteers from the chareidi sector took part in a Memorial Day event at the kever of an unknown soldier. Chareidi soldiers and citizens took part in Memorial Day events including at the kever of soldier Pinchas Solovechik HY”D, a lone soldier yeshiva bochur who fought in the Etzel and killed when the walls in the area of Har Tzion were penetrated in the War of Independence. He is buried in the Old Shaare Zedek Cemetery, a kever that is usually not marked on Memorial Day.
Zaka CEO Yehuda Meshi-Zahav said “In past years, together with my friend Yisrael Gillis, we organized a minyan at the kever and today, on Memorial Day, Zaka volunteers, soldiers and visitors joined.
Together, we were mispallel in his memory and we light candles, recited Tehillim and Kaddish along with Keil Molei Rachamim.
