Police in the Lachish district of southern Israel are busy ahead of Yomtov in addition to their law-enforcement duties, taking part in community efforts to deliver kimcha d’pischa boxes to the needy.
Police cadets in officers’ training have taken a break from their studies to participate in the mitzvah and assist those in need ahead of Yomtov. They have been released from National Police College for the mitzvah endeavor and are working with Magen David Adom volunteers in Ashdod to distribute packages in time for Pesach.
They have packaged 140 cartons of food for Yomtov, which they are in the process of delivering in time.
Police and MDA personnel alike report they view this their ‘zechus’, to be taking part in the mitzvah ahead of Pesach, pleased they are able to donate their time to assist others celebrate Yomtov.
