An effort to smuggle diving suits into Gaza was thwarted by Israeli security personnel at the Kerem Shalom Crossing working together with agents of the IDF Liaison Office, and Shin Bet. There were thirty professional diving suits in the shipment, which security agencies assume were intended for use by terrorists.

The diving suits were included inside a shipment of sport clothing imported from abroad heading to PA (Palestinian Authority) areas as well as Hamas-controlled Gaza.

The shipment was confiscated and the persons involved arrested for questioning.
