A 12-year-old chareidi youth became this week’s second victim of an anti-Semitic attack in Jerusalem. Unlike the first attack in which Nachum Weissfish was assaulted heading home from the Kosel, this young victim was targeted on his way to the Kosel.
The victim was heading to the Kosel on Tuesday night, the eve of 12 Nissan 5772 along with a brother. Eyewitnesses confirm that two Arab youths approached them and began cursing and then they began the vicious assault. Police were summoned but the assailants fled. Police are using area surveillance cameras in the hope of apprehending the attackers.
Kikar Shabbat quotes Ichud Hatzalah EMT Chaim Amsellem who was on the scene. “I received a call for a boy who was assaulted at Kikar Tzahal. When I arrived the boy explained he was in a crosswalk when two Arabs approached him and began with a verbal assault and then began beating him. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was diagnosed as having sustained a fractured jaw.
