The Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday, 4 Nissan 5772 sentenced an Arab resident from the Tzur Bacher neighborhood of the capital to 7.5 years imprisonment for his terrorist activities.

He was convicted of membership in Hamas, illegal weapons possession, and placing a pipe bomb at a hitchhiking stop at the Tunnel Highway connecting the southern capital and Gush Etzion. The conviction was the result of a plea bargain agreement.

The bomb was found by a city sanitation worker who lost his hand as a result. The defendant was also ordered to pay the city worker 200,000 NIS compensation for his injuries.
