Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday, met in Berlin with German Defense Minister Thomas de Maizière.
Most of the meeting was held in private with the two ministers discussing the range of strategic issues on the agenda, including Iran and the host of changes and upheavals in the Middle East. They also held a comprehensive and thorough discussion about the variety of bilateral security issues between Israel and Germany. Defense Minister Barak told his German counterpart, “A nuclear Iran is a danger to the future of the Middle East, the security of Israel and the security and economic stability of the entire world.”
Regarding Syria, Minister Barak noted, “The massacre in Syria is a worrying pattern that must be denounced – in fact it must be curbed immediately – both by the Arab world and the entire international community.”
