Nahariya Police Charged With Planting Revenge Bombs


mishtara3.jpgFive Israeli police officers, including one superintendent, from the Northern District, and one civilian have been charged in the Haifa District Court with planting two bombs at two locations connected to Michael Mor, the head of a criminal gang in Nahariya. The defendants have been indicted on sabotage with explosives and arms violations, which carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. The police officers were also indicted on breach of trust.

One of the policemen who participated in the conspiracy turned state’s evidence and will serve six months community service. The Internal Affairs Department said that the Haifa District Prosecutor would indict a civilian specialist in pyrotechnics and fireworks who aided and abetted the police officers.
