Israel Health Ministry officials have announced a rabies alert in the area of Kibbutz Malchiya in the Upper Galil after a dead rabid fox was found.
Officials report that on last Shabbos, the dead fox was found after attacking a dog on the kibbutz. Therefore, health officials are urging anyone who may have been in contact with that dog, the fox, stray dogs or is uncertain to contact the district health office. The alert pertains to contact made between February 22nd and March 3rd 2012.
One may reach officials in the Tzfat District Health Office at 04-699-4219 or 04-699-4218. After working hours, one should report to a hospital emergency room. This is especially true for parents regarding smaller children.
