Beitar: Fiery Crash Leaves Father R”L Dead


beitar mva.jpgA short while ago, a tragic car accident between a school-bus and a car on the road near Beitar (Yerushalayim’s Tunnel Road) left the driver of the car R”L killed. The driver was identified as Yisroel Holtzberg Z”L, a 23-year-old Stoliner Chosid, father of two children and a resident of Beitar. Hatzolah Israel tells Yeshivaworld that he was R”L pronounced dead on the scene – after the car burst into flames. Only a few children had minor injuries.

    he is a very close friend of mine
    he went thru a very tuff life ..in many ways..and he still managed to start build his family…
    i am in shock!!!
    he was a true ehrliche yid, friendly and a all around good yid.

  2. This is truly such tragic news. We’re in shock. No Yochi, this is a first cousin to the Holtzbergs in Boro Park. There are really no words for this. Baruch Dayan Emes.

    Yes, I thought there was only one person in the world named Holtzberg, how did you guess??

    If you read the article, & apparantly, you did not, it said that he was 23 & a Stoliner Chosid…
    Hey now, those are 2 pretty good clues of who he is, so maybe, just maybe he is the Stoliner Chosid Holtzberg who moved to Israel? Now you did not think of that one, eh? Good thing you read the talkbacks on YW…

    I travel that tunnel road every day, and it’s extremely dangerous (both the windy road itself, the drivers, and the ARABS ym”sh)
    A prominent posek told me that I must say tefilas haderech going through the tunnels, (but, if you’re going the regular way (Route 1), this tefila is optional)
