The alertness of an IDF patrol operating along the Egyptian border prevented a terror bomb attack on Tuesday morning, 28 Shevat. Soldiers detected persons along the border placing a large explosive device. The terrorists fled the scene. IDF bomb-demolition technicians detonated the explosive device in a controlled blast. There were no injuries.
The location of the explosive device is described as “near Route 10”. Security officials on Monday, 27 Shevat 5772 announced nearby Route 12 will be reopened on Sunday. That roadway has been closed in part to civilian motorists since August 2011 when terrorists who infiltrated from Egypt killed eight people.
