Wednesday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Nurses in Ashkelon’s Barzilai Hospital struck for two hours this morning, explaining many wards are operating at 180% of capacity and patients are suffering.

** Nurses at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva are walking off the job in 9 wards due to chronic server overcrowding which they say is negatively impacting patient care. They are striking for three hours. Overcrowding reported at 140%.

** Police in India have arrested 5 suspects in connection with the attack in New Delhi earlier this week.

** Meeting in NYC with UN Secretary-General Bank ki-Moon, Deputy PM Silvan Shalom called on the UN leader to “stop Iran”, pointing out Tehran is responsible for terror attacks this week in Georgia and New Delhi.

** MK Meir Sheetrit announces he will not run for the Kadima leadership position.
