Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron arrested 14 suspects during the night.

** Due to severe patient overcrowding, nurses in a number of units in Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv on Monday morning walked off the job, leaving a critically low number of medical caretakers.

11:05: The IDF Homefront Command is conducting siren testing in the Gaza border communities’ area.

** Two youths were arrested at the Migron Outpost during the night, reportedly for violating the ‘closed military zone’ status.

** Syria’s state-run news agency report terrorists blew up a gas line that runs along the border with Lebanon.

** Indictments were handed down on Monday morning against 5 Arab residents of the eastern capital for firebomb attacks against security personnel from Beit Yonatan as well as against security forces. They were arrested last month. Gag order just released.

** In a live press conference on Monday afternoon, Shaul Mofaz announced that if elected to head the Kadima Party, current leader Tzipi Livni will maintain a senior post under his administration.
