Bill Submitted to Knesset: No Entry Without IDF or National Service

MK (Yisrael Beitenu) Moshe Matalon has introduced a bill in Knesset that would ban anyone from serving who has not completed IDF or national service. The bill stipulates that one who hasn’t done either and does not have a “legitimate reason” would be ineligible from running for a Knesset seat. The bill, which is not likely to gain sufficient support to pass into law, would strike a blow to chareidim and Arabs.

Matalon feels that serving one’s country must be precede seeking public office.
