Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


SUNDAY:

17:40: IDF soldiers fired at images seen approaching the Gaza security fence.

18:45: A bus traveling in Shomron was hit with rocks south of Shechem, in the area of Chawarah.

18:55: A rocket fired from Gaza landed in an open area near Sderot.

20:37: Rocks were hurled at a bus traveling near Hizme, between Jerusalem and Adam (in Shomron). The windshield was smashed.

23:14: Three Araba waiting in ambush to throw firebombs were taken into custody south of Gush Etzion, near el-Aroub.

MONDAY

** A police department vehicle was stolen from Netanya during the night. Officials report there were no weapons or classified material in the vehicle.

** The level of the Kinneret, the national reservoir, rose one centimeter in the past 24 hours due to the rainfall. The current level is -213.65cm.

** Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh, who is visiting in Turkey, met this morning with terrorists released by Israel and exiled to Turkey in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal.

** Due to terror alerts, the IDF has ceased operations at the Karnei Crossing and moving all operations to the Kerem Shalom Crossing to Gaza.

11:54: Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials report a number of ministry websites were hacked during the night. The source of the hacking attack has not yet been determined.

12:39: It’s snowing on Mount Hermon and ski resort officials report accumulations on the top of the slope have reached 15cm (6 inches).
