The Knesset Finance Committee has allocated 25 million NIS towards fortifying buses that transport school children throughout Yehuda and Shomron. The money is used to convert regular passenger buses to withstand terror attacks, attaching steel plating and bulletproof glass.
In the coming four years, 120 millions NIS will be allocated for protective buses as Israel forges ahead in its quest to sign a peace agreement with the PA (Palestinian Authority), which has brought bulletproof school buses to the world after its founder Yasser Arafat brought airplane hijackings to the world of travel.
Throughout Yehuda and Shomron today, there are 45,000 students being transported in such vehicles, in compliance with IDF directives.
