A protest was held on Tuesday evening (Nov. 8th) in southern Tel Aviv against the rapidly growing threat faced by the influx of illegal aliens into that area. MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari participated in the protest. They called on Tel Aviv City Hall to begin getting tough with the illegals and to round them up and oust them from the city.
A number of days earlier, residents of the Shapira neighborhood in the southern Tel Aviv area visited the office of the Ichud HaLeumi MK seeking his assistance. They explained illegals from Africa have set up an illegal tavern and the situation is becoming increasingly worrisome.
Ben-Ari promised to continue the protests, acknowledging the serious situation which presents many threats, including the increased crime emanating from the illegals as well as the demographic realities that exist in the city as a result of the open border between Israel and Sinai.
In the interim, residents have launched a neighborhood patrol during evening hours to prevent muggings and assaults committed by the illegal aliens.
