An agricultural worker from Thailand sustained light shrapnel injuries in a rocket attack during the night (motzei Shabbos to Sunday) in the Chof Ashkelon Regional Council area. The wounded man was treated on the scene and transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon where he is listed in light condition.
A second rocket was also fired during the night, landing in the same general area. Baruch Hashem there were no injuries in that attack.
The air force followed with retaliatory strikes over Hamas-controlled Gaza, with helicopter gunships reporting accurate hits. At least one terrorist was eliminated and others injured.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has announced a zero tolerance policy and vows to strike back for any and every rocket attack, committed to “painful retaliation”. Reports from Jerusalem indicate that in the event the rocket attacks don not cease, the IDF will be ordered into Gaza again, for a ground incursion towards bringing rocket attacks into southern Israeli civilian population centers to a halt.
