Chacham Ovadia Yosef Writes Letter To Egyptian President

oy.jpgChacham Ovadia Yosef has reportedly sent a letter to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in which he asked him to work toward the release of the kidnapped Israeli soldiers. Chacham Ovadia had sent the letter with Shas Minister Eli Yishai, who met with the Egyptian President today.

“As a spiritual and religious leader, I feel it is my Jewish moral duty to appeal to you in the matter of the kidnapped soldiers. I am confident that you will respond to my request and do everything in your power,” the letter read.

  1. May I remind everyone that we just passed yemei HaDin … let’s try to treat a fellow Yid with kavod and derech eretz, instead of jumping down the person’s throat!

  2. Flatbusher,
There’s a reason why he’s a Godol and you’re well just Flatbusher and you’re just exposing it. You should be embarrassed of the way you think and comment on the exalted behavior of our leaders.

  3. Flatbusher-
Hush Hush my boy & watch what you say about Gedolei HaDor. Rav Ovadiah is a tremendous Talmid Chochom & his Hasmodeh is very to difficult to emulate. His chashivus Hatorah is only one that you could maybe, possibly dream to achieve. If he took time out from learning to write this letter, how dare you open your mouth like that. What’s wrong with you? Sheesh!

  4. FLATBUSHER,
NEED YOU BE REMINDED “KOL HA’MAALIG AL DIVREI CHACHAMIM NIDOIN B’TZOIA ROISACHAS”.
YOUD BE WISE TO POST AN APOLOGY.

  5. sephardicpride, say most don’t say all as I’m an askenaz & I would even love to go to get a brocho from the Gadol HaRav Ovadia Yoseph.
I don’t get it how people just after the Yom Norim can talk like this specially about a Gadol Hador.

  6. Thoses who read the news today, saw that Eli Yishai of the Shas party had a meeting in Egypt re: trading committments. At that time he handed the request and letter over to the minister in charge to give to the President of Egypt. A big WOW!!!! for a group to meet with highups, & after discussing their agenda plead for Jewish honor and help. How many of our Jewish national groups do the same after meeting with Pres. Bush or other heads of state? Thank you Reb O. Yosef for modeling true torah behavior for the masses.
