While Israel has given the green light to import lulavim from Hamas-controlled Gaza, the Hamas terrorist entity has not; explaining officials are still deliberating the matter. Israel is willing to push aside realities and permit the imports towards meeting Yomtov demands, but Hamas has yet to be as forthcoming, perhaps enjoying the current situation, the uncertainty surrounding the lulavim.
The lulavim were due to arrive on Thursday, 8 Tishrei, 100,000 lulavim required to meet Yomtov demands in Israel.
Hamas on the other hand appears more interested in procrastinating while Israel remains anxious to obtain the lulavim in light of Egyptian refusal to send lulavim this year.

from Hamas perspective, trade undermines their goal of maintaining a permanent state of war. Someone who makes money from doing business with Israelis isn’t going to want to put that parnassah at risk by taking pot shots at Israelis (or letting a neighbor take pot shots).
If you want peace, support commerce. If you want war, oppose commerce. It doesn’t make any difference which side you are on.
So, everyone take note how accommodating the Arabs will be of Jewish needs should they attain the status they claim to want.
But I don’t want my lulav money lining Hamas’s pockets anyway.
Also consider that if the need were reversed, Israel would be lining trucks up at the Gaza border to bring them what they claimed they needed.
Eyes open, everyone. Think.
WaR IS WaR but Business is BusinesS
Why aren’t we trumpeting to the UN and the press how we agreed to make this huge business deal with them, but they don’t want to trade with us?
Cool, we sell them everything they want, they say us what we want – no one has time to blow up things. The Baal ha-bassim get rich, and the Bnei Torah get to learn in peace.
Have you noticed that a major reason for the EU is the desire of the rest of Europe to keep the Germans too busy making money to make mischief
let them keep their lulavim, we don’t need to support a terror government. Would you have bought a lulav from the Nazis? These people are about the same except instead of killing us with a gas chamber, they are willing to do it with their suicide bombers, missiles and knifes.
What supersedes what? The kedusha of eretz yisroel that exists where these leluvim grew or the Amalek status of these evil people who will certainly use the very same money we pay them for the lulavim and chas v’shulem kill Jews…
This is a decision too great for any of us to decide and we ought to allow Torah giants to tackle this very complex halacha and hashkafah question.
I know Rabbi Kahana zt’l would have just entered Gaza by force and took what is rightfully ours in the first place. Oh well…the days for doing so are long gone until Moshiach annihilates these baby killers.
Blood lulavim? Very nice.
They boycott their own by not allowing Israel to have the lulavim…then expect the WORLD to support them…the poor farmers are the losers and THEIR OWN don’t even care…only if OTHERS boycott them & then they use it as propaganda for, what they claim, is their cause!!!!
