Arabs in the area of the Luban el-Sharqiya, near Yishuv Eli in Shomron targeted a female Jewish motorist in a carjacking on Monday night (5 Tishrei). The woman was waiting in traffic caused by roadwork on the main road, Route 60 when Arab assailants pulled her out of the vehicle and made a U turn and fled north.

There has been an increase in car thefts from Jews in recent months, including an instance near Gilad Farm when a motorist was waiting at Jat Jct. heading towards Kedumim. A number of days later, an Arab car thief stole a vehicle belonging to an inspector from the Afikim Transportation Company while it stood opposite IDF Base 3 in Shomron. In that case, the driver headed to PA-occupied Shechem.

In another case about two months ago, thieves made off with a vehicle in Gush Etzion after the driver got out of the vehicle for a moment. In that case, a child was in a rear car seat. After realizing the child was inside the thief abandoned the vehicle near Beit Omar, north of Hebron.

About three months ago, Arabs from Chawarah grabbed the vehicle of a female resident of Yitzhar. Two Arabs blocked the roadway and another pulled a knife, compelling her to get out.
