A Kassam rocket landed in the Shar HaNegev Regional Council during Rosh Hashanah. No injuries were reported.

00:30: An explosive device was found in the Shimon HaTzaddik (Wadi Joz) area of the eastern capital. Police bomb demolition technicians dismantled the device without incident. No addition information is available at this time.

** Al-Hyatt: Egypt will release American Israeli Ilan Grapel on Tuesday, coinciding with a visit from US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. Senator Gary Akerman is calling for increased US aid to Egypt in exchange for the release of Grapel.

** Reports from Uman indicate 40,000 mispallalim arrived to spend Rosh Hashanah at Rav Nachman’s kever.

** PA officials report that an additional 20 Arab prisoners have joined a hunger strike that began last week, adding a total of 3,500 prisoners are taking part, protesting unacceptable punishments in the Israel prison system.
