While PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) thought his move, threatening the White House that an American veto of PA statehood would mark and end of the two-state solution would push the Americans to back down, the White House may just have the last word.
Meeting in Ramallah on Sunday (Sept. 18), US Mideast envoy Dennis Ross told Abu Mazen that going ahead with his plans to file for full statehood membership with UN Security Council this week will lead to sanctions on the PA.
Abu Mazen has repeatedly shunned American’s position and the promised veto of a PA move, stating the time for statehood is overdue and as such, the PA was planning to take its case to the Security Council. In reality, the latter is simply a formality at present since even though the PA enjoys support in the General Assembly; it lacks a majority in the Security Council to permit it to attain full membership.

wow
maybe this is milchemes gog umagog
It is about time the US sanction the PA and stop funding them. Abbas claims Israel is at fault for the standstill. Since Oslo of 93, its all been one sided. Israel giving in on almost everything plus more with the PA doing zilch except intifadas and terrorism (in addition to their own inner corruption – foreign aid money going to their private bank accts. and not social welfare, its intended purpose.) Stop funding this rogue regime!
Hey give lets give some credit to our President. Way to go Obama! Keep it up!
Unless the US is willing to boycott Islamic oil, there is no way for the US to support Israel in the long run.
Wonder how much foreign oil the US would need if we stopped exporting what we drill.
to #1 no, milchemes gog u’magog will be after THE ENTIRE WORLD-including the USA-will be against Eretz Yisroel (which will be soon IY”H as the relationship bet. Israel & the USA is slowly separating since the very beginning of the obama admin.) (LOOK FOR yourself in Zecharia Hanavi & see the things Hashem said will happen before mashiach comes)
coffee addict, I was thinking the same thing! It will be interesting to see if Obama/the US does follow through with sanctions.
