Once again, it is being reported that El Al is planning yet another fare hike. This time it’s only an additional $5-$16 per flight starting September 23 due to jet fuel cost increase.
It is interesting to note that YW reported in July (HERE), that El Al raised their prices, also due to the increase of jet fuel costs – and raised their prices just a month before that as well.
Rami Levi, VP of sales at El Al, told Ynet on Sunday that the cost of jet fuel was expected to remain high. “Fuel is an airlines main production output, so we are obliged to raise prices accordingly,” Levi explained.
