A Court in Washington ordered the Iranian government to pay $12.9 in compensation to the family of Marla Bennett, who was killed in a bombing at the Hebrew University’s cafeteria in July 2002. Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that Iran was legally responsible for the terror attack because it supported and sponsored Hamas, the terrorist organization that carried out the bombing.
Nine people were killed, and about 10 people were seriously hurt in the attack.

THEY’LL NEVER BE ABLE TO COLLECT, ANYWAY.
Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof! Chazak V’Amatz!
True, but I believe this ruling allows the US to freeze Iranian assets in the amount of the award.
nat lewin (grandson of the resiha rav) and his daughter are the lawyers in this case.
the iranian assets are frozen already (back from 1979), but it will take YEARS till they see a penny, till the lawyers (not the lewins, the other lawyers) get their BIG cut.
Please be aware that this only freezes assets, no one starting with the Flatow family, on to Boim and Sapersteins, all americans that stood up for their rights and spent tremendous funds to collect terror dollars,,,,,,never collect. BUT it reminds and rereminds society who the terror aggressors are.
actually, some of those bklnmom named did collect something, but i dont think it deters too much (not that they shouldnt continue trying and suing).
interestingly, its the banks that are protecting these customers (and faciltating terrorism). names include bank of ny and citibank (disclaimer — citibank is 1/3 owned by the saudi who sponsors programming on saudi tv fundraising for hamas).
and by the way, what about that bank on 13 ave and 43 st in boro park that advertises its branch in rammallah? we should demand a customer list of that rammallah branch!!! (note rammallah = sh’chem)
