9:05PM EST: Hatzolah Paramedics have placed a medevac on stand-by for an infant which fell from an unknown height at Camp Sternberg in the Catskills. The baby is reported to be unconscious at this time.
NOTE: YW has been contacted by employees of the camp stating that this story never happened. YW’s sources confirm that a medevac WAS placed on standby for an incident at the camp. The only item in question is what exactly transpired. Due to the fact that we no one will tell us the exact story, we will leave it as is. (Our sources maintain that reports given over multiple different radio systems – by multiple different emergency agencies – did in fact transmit the information as was written above.)

This is from one of the nurses at Camp Sternberg. This is an untrue report. Please remove from the blog.

So why haven’t you removed it? This was an irresponsible report that can only worry, needlessly, families with relatives in the camp.
Unfortunately theyeshivaworld doesn’t seem to have heard of HIPPA which prevents medical staff from releasing medical information. I can confirm there was no infant and no fall. The information relayed by “multiple different emergency agencies” was incorrect. Period.
Inasmuch as most camps in the Catskills are not near a hospital, it is not uncommon for Hatzolah to call for a medivac standby. The incident in camp was minor, did not necessitate such evacuation, did not involve an infant, and the person in question is back at work. As you did not check with the camp before posting this, which we consider irresponsible, people all over the country are asking for the “baby’s” name so that Tehillim can be said!
