VIDEO & PHOTOS: Alan Dershowitz Visits United Hatzolah Headquarters

[Photo & video links below] Jerusalem, Israel – Professor Alan Dershowitz and his son Alon, recently visited United Hatzalah’s headquarters in Jerusalem. Professor Dershowitz, an international board member of United Hatzalah, dedicated his time to see first-hand the life-saving operations of United Hatzalah. The focus of the visit was the Irving and Cherna Moskowitz LifeCompass Command Center, which utilizes proprietary interactive dispatch software linked with GPS tracking technology.  During the tour Professor Dershowitz had the opportunity to observe in real-time how the Moskowitz sponsored technology identified the site of an emergency incident and within seconds alerted the United Hatzalah medics closest to the scene.  The volunteers responded to the critical incident within 2 minutes, approximately 6-8 minutes in advance of the ambulance.

Professor Dershowitz emphasized that the commitment and professionalism of the volunteers required an equal and corresponding commitment from supporters of United Hatzalah. The funds that invigorate the organization are like the oxygen that volunteers administer to the sick and wounded. Professor Dershowitz repeatedly referred to the ongoing commitment of Dr. Irving and Cherna Moskowitz as a model for sustained impact driven philanthropy wherein the results can be seen on an ongoing basis in the form of lives saved. The presence of a continuous and transparent relationship with donors throughout the world allows the volunteers of United Hatzalah to save lives throughout Israel. Not one to stand on the sidelines, when informed about United Hatzalah’s need for an additional 250 defibrillators, Professor Dershowitz immediately donated the first one.
