Marine Park, Brooklyn, NY – The Jewish Community Council of Marine Park (JCCMP) hosted Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, Executive Vice President of Agudath Israel of America for a Shabbos of Inspiration and Reflection. Rabbi Zwiebel spoke to over 500 people throughout the Shabbos at 5 different Shuls. He also entertained a group of 75 community members at an Oneg on Friday evening.
The Shabbos was part of the JCCMP’s annual Scholar in Residence series which was sponsored L’Zecher Nishmas Rav Alter Shmuel Ari ben Rav Yosef zt’l, May his neshama have an aliyah.
As part of this series, Rabbi Zwiebel spoke at Khal Bais Mordechai, Khilah Marine Park, Kehal Bnai Torah – Bais Naftali, Khal Zichron Mordechai and Yeshiva Ohr Yisroel. The JCCMP would like to thank the Shuls and their Moreh D’Asras for taking part in the Shabbos.
Rabbi Zwiebel tackled an incredible array of relevant and important issues over a 26 hour period. He discussed issues such as the rising cost of Yeshiva tuition, the importance of voting and having a unified voice for a community, how everyone can be an askan, and the importance of making a Kiddush Hashem for Klal Yisroel. He provided many relevant examples of how these issues and topics affect us all on a practical level.
Shea Rubenstein, Executive Vice President of the JCCMP said “The JCCMP has tremendous Hakaras Hatov to Rav Chaim Dovid for coming into our community and speaking on issues that affect the younger constituency of this growing neighborhood”.
The JCCMP will continue the Scholar in Residence series on Shabbos Parshas Shelach – June 4-5 when the world-renowned Rabbi Pesach Kroh will grace us with his exhilarating and inimitable speeches on Inyanei D’Yoma.
